Bomb Scare in Knysna

Waterfront Drive got sealed off by an influx of police and paramedic vehicles yesterday, August 29 2012, after there were 2 bomb threats against Builders Trade Depot. Sniffer dogs found nothing. Disgruntled employee?

Although the public were not allowed to drive through, it was reported that some pedestrians were (bizarrely) allowed to continue.

Although a bomb scare seems out of character for idyllic Knysna, it has happened before.  In 2011, there was a false threat at Forest Lodge Centre in the suburb of Sedgefield. Earlier that year, a Sedgefield resident was arrested at George Airport for joking that there was a bomb in his luggage.
