Robbed at Gunpoint in Knysna Mall

This past Friday, the morning of August 10, a woman was robbed at gun point in the parking lot of Knysna Mall.

Niqua Security guard, Lungisile Ntlekis, gave chase. This was noticed by police reservist, Brent Seaman, who caught up to the robber and cornered him.

Although the gun turned out to be a similarly heavy, pellet gun version of a 9mm, this brazen attack continues the escalation of crime in Knysna.

I asked Knysna Mall for comment but their bosses, Maponya Development, have unfortunately been slow in response. However, manager Laura Ewels said that there will be increased security patrols in the underground parking lot.

Look for the full details in this week’s printed version of the Knysna-Plett Herald.
