In upholding the George Magistrate’s Court’s decision to deny the 59-year-old Knysna man bail, Hlophe said: “How can a man with such shocking pictures of child pornography be innocent. Is there an innocent man who would have such pictures? It is a disgrace,” said Hlophe.
“The state has got a very strong case and the accused is a candidate for a life sentence when convicted. This man is a monster, he is a sex pervert. I have no sympathy for him. Bail appeal is dismissed.”
The Knysna estate agent is accused on 36 charges, including child trafficking, sexual assault and rape. He allegedly sexually assaulted an 11-year-old boy in 2001. He is also accused of recruiting the same boy to procure girls between eight and nine years old, whom he allegedly sexually molested, raped and photographed while engaging in sexual acts with them.

Our Purpose in a Nutshell
Our goal is a safer Knysna. Our police and municipality have failed to put the public first, not only refusing transparency and accountability but issuing bizarre statements such as crime is down. If anything, the statistics are being dumbed down and bad cops have permeated the justice system. The only way that we will regain control over our lives is by participating in the process, motivating and reminding them that their job is to protect and serve us, the public.
